How fast does your teen read? It's likely been a while since this question was posed directly. Understanding their average reading speed across various subjects—and knowing how to improve it—can be incredibly beneficial for high school students. Yet, this critical skill is often overlooked until the pressure of test preparation mounts. Our Efficient Reading course, specifically tailored for ninth and tenth graders, is designed not only to prepare them for the (P)SAT and ACT but also to enhance their day-to-day school performance.

Spring Course: Post-AP Exam Boost

  • Start Date: Wednesday, May 15

  • Duration: 6 weeks, sessions every Wednesday at 7 PM

  • Objective: Enhance reading skills during the post-AP period to strengthen foundations for standardized tests and academic success.

Summer Course: Summer Reading Mastery

  • Start Options: Choose between Tuesdays starting June 18, or Thursdays starting June 20

  • Duration: 6 weeks; initial session 1.5 hours, followed by weekly 1-hour sessions.

  • Overview: Begin the summer with a comprehensive session that introduces essential reading strategies, followed by weekly sessions focused on refining these techniques for improved test performance.

Program Highlights:

  • Develop Speed Reading Skills: The average high school student reads at approx. 150 words per minute. Learn and practice the skills needed to reach the 300-1000wpm necessary for SAT/ACT sucess.

  • Flexible Reading Techniques: Learn to adapt reading speed based on the content’s purpose, crucial for handling varied academic materials and standardized exams.

  • Enhanced Study Skills: Broaden your toolkit with advanced note-taking and exam strategy skills.

Class size is limited to 4 students to ensure personalized attention and significant learning achievements.

Tuition is $600, including materials.

***Individual enrollment is also possible, with scheduling flexible enough to fit around vacation plans and busy summer schedules. Cost is $800, all-inclusive.
